2. Rights and Responsibilities

There is a difference between rights and responsibilities.

A right is a freedom that is protected, or
generally things you are allowed to do. These include rights to free speak freely, defend oneself, worship and practice religion, etc.

A responsibility is a duty or something you should do as a citizen or a member of a group. Like following the law, paying taxes, recycling or doing your homework.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is a historic document that was adopted by the United Nations on 10 December 1948 at the Palais de Chaillot in Paris, France. The Declaration consists of 30 articles affirming an individual’s rights, and although the the document is not legally binding, it is generally expected for all countries to follow it in their constitution.

Some of the articles of the Declaration include:
